Q.  RedHat/Fedora/CentOS: verify that a package is installed properly?

A.  Use the `verify` option for `rpm`

rpm --verify <package> rpm -V <package>
If its ok you'll get no message. Or with extra verbosity
rpm --verify --verbose <package> rpm -Vv <package>
