Q. There is nothing in /etc for PostgreSQL.
Where are its configuration files?

A. They are in /var/lib/pgsql/data
That folder is created by the the "initdb" command.

In that folder you'll find:

pg_hba.conf pg_ident.conf postgresql.conf
Normally you don't need to mess with these files. You give users access to a database, etc using SQL commands.
