Q. Toronto to/from Montreal

A. From city hall to city hall the distance is 543km.
There is a wide highway between the two major cities.
Besides driving, the choices are:

- Flying with regular airline
- Flying with Porter
- Train
- Regular bus
- Megabus
- One way car rental

Details
- Flying with regular airline
	- Goes from outskirts airport to outskirts airport
	- You need to get from the airport to downtown (if that's where you are going)
	- Many flights per day
	- About $200 if you book a couple weeks in advance
	- YYZ <--> YUL

- Flying with Porter
	- Toronto Airport is downtown but in outskirts of Montreal
	- About $250 if you book a couple weeks in advance
	- YTZ <--> YUL

- Train
	- Downtown to downtown
	- About $110 if you book a couple weeks in advance
	- Book at https://www.viarail.ca
	- The most pleasant trip - lots of leg room, power outlet, wi-fi
	- Not as fast as flying

- Regular bus
	- Downtown to downtown
	- About $55 if you book a couple weeks in advance
	- Book at https://www.busbud.com

- Megabus
	- Downtown to downtown
	- The cheapest
	- Book at https://ca.megabus.com/route-guides/montreal-to-toronto-bus
	- Reviews vary https://www.yelp.ca/biz/megabus-toronto

- One way car rental
	- Basically this isn't feasible from what I can find
	- All companies that support this charge a huge fee to return the car to the original city.
	- So if you're going one way and want a car, travel another method and rent the car once you arrive.

A word on winter weather
- Its sometimes dangerous and unwise to use the highway. Be prepared wait until a storm is over.
- Expect delays if you are trying to travel in the winter.
- This affects all modes of transportation.
