Computer Tips - I have heard you can get HDTV for free over-the-air. Is that true?

Date: 2008oct22 Q. I have heard you can get HDTV for free over-the-air. Is that true? A. Yes, I do it. I have a DB4 Antenna http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2430411 (I get no kickback on this link) mounted on the side of my chimney and pointed at the nearest TV tower. Its connected by RG6 coax cable to a Zenith HDTV receiver box. If you buy a TV now it has a built in ATSC tuner so you don't need that box. This is a pretty good video about installing... http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-11249_7-6264597-1.html Grounding is totally important!!! I have two grounds: - From the grounding block to a spike in the earth and a water pipe - From the antenna's metal pole to a spike in the earth and a water pipe But maybe that's too much of a good thing: ground loop. Enjoy the free TV. Some extra stuff that is interesting but I don't know about: - Which PVRs work in this setup? - How about 2 antennas (pointed at the 2 local towners) then multiplexed into one coax cable? Please mail or comment you know about this.
