Computer Tips - I have the Window boot manager (MBR?) on an XP disk
Date: 2012jun19
OS: Windows
Warning: Vista isn't current any more
Q. I have the Window boot manager (MBR?) on an XP disk
and Vista on another disk. How can I remove the XP disk
and boot from the Vista disk?
A. I am no expert but this worked for me.
- Disconnect the power from the XP disk.
- Boot to your Vista install CD.
- Select the "Startup Repair" option.
- Remove CD, reboot
I read elsewhere that you need to do this three times
for Windows 7 but once was enough for me.
